PASYNO, on the occasion of the International Day of Midwives, celebrated every year on May 5, extends its warm greetings and congratulates the midwives of Cyprus for the important work they perform.
“International Day of Midwives is celebrated worldwide as recognition of the contribution of midwives to society and the crucial role they play in women’s health. Midwives contribute significantly to issues related to safe motherhood, childbirth, and women’s health during pregnancy,” PASYNO states in a press release.
As it points out, “according to the World Health Organization, the midwife is considered the professional who plays a primary role in safe motherhood, contributing to fewer maternal and neonatal deaths. In Cyprus, the role of midwives is significant: they provide care services to pregnant women and their families, supporting the improvement of the quality of maternity care provided.”
PASYNO supports the essential involvement of midwives in the healthcare system and congratulates them for their multifaceted work, as they offer a healthy new beginning to every new mother and her child. They are healthcare professionals who stand by them, care for them with love and respect, provide information, prenatal counseling, support during childbirth, and help reduce the risk of complications.
